Biography of Louis Eugène Gabriel Isabey 1803-1886

French School. Painter and Printmaker, son of the miniaturist Jean-Baptiste Isabey. Debuted at the Salon in 1824, exhibiting seascapes and won a 1st class medal. Traveled to England in 1825 where he studied the work of Turner and the English watercolourists. Specialized in Marine views.
